I was commissioned by the parents and teachers of the Mt. Bethel graduating class of 2005 to paint a mural for the class gift. The final design was a filmstrip mural depicting all of the field trips and events the kids took part in from kindergarten through the end of 5th grade. The images in each film cell were composed from actual photos provided by the parents and teachers throughout the 6 years the children spent at Mt. Bethel. Notice the hints of The Fabulous Fox Theatre in the background.
The mural was painted on two of the walls outside the school in the "Outdoor Theater" area. You can see the brick seats in the foreground.
This was a very large project that took the better part of the summer fighting yellow jackets, unexpected thunderstorms, sun, heat, and unstable ladders but it was a labor of love. The film ends with a projector displaying all the names of the graduating students on the big screen.
